Map CSV columns to PDF fields without hidden guesses
Field mapping is a contract: a named CSV value is sent to one named PDF field. Good names make automatic matches convenient; a visible review makes the batch safe.
Automatic matching
FormBatch compares normalized names by lowercasing and removing spaces and punctuation. These pairs match:
Normalization does not use synonyms. Surname will not be guessed as Last Name. Select that mapping manually.
Leave a field unchanged when appropriate
An unmapped field keeps the value already stored in the template. Read-only fields cannot be mapped. This prevents a blank CSV cell from accidentally rewriting a field that was intended to stay fixed.
PDF options are authoritative
Radio groups, dropdowns, and option lists contain internal available values. The CSV value must match one of them. FormBatch allows an unambiguous case-insensitive match but does not guess spelling or convert labels.
Checkbox values
Use explicit values. Checked: yes, true, 1, on, checked, or x. Unchecked: no, false, 0, off, unchecked, or blank.
Review row one like a test case
- Every intended field changed.
- No fixed template field was overwritten.
- Long values fit visibly.
- Non-Latin and accented characters render.
- Checkbox and option states match the source row.
Correct mappings before the batch exists.
